    STOAD 01 / working prototype

    Leg extension. A new angle.

A leg extension with an adjustable backrest and a selector-pin weight stack. A working prototype for seated and reclined setups in one station.

    Physical prototype · video

26 seconds from an actual demonstration. Reclined and more upright setups, with closer views of the adjustment beside the seat. No audio.

About the recording and its evidence

The clip shows visible use and adjustment of the prototype. It does not measure hip/knee angles, capacity or lifetime. The recording date and prototype version are not published. The description was checked against the clip on 5 September 2026.

    New angle. Fixed seat.

The backrest moves from seated to reclined. The seat cushion keeps its angle while the backrest moves.

    What we know about 01.

STOAD 01 is a working prototype. This is what has been demonstrated, what we are developing towards and what needs documentation before a sale.

Demonstrated means a function has been shown – not that every property has been measured. A development target is an intended direction. Not confirmed means the information needs clarification before a purchasing decision.

    Seated and reclined setups
    Demonstrated on the prototype

An adjustable backrest is demonstrated in the prototype video. Final backrest angles and ergonomic settings must be measured on the production version.

    180 kg weight stack
    Development target

Development is based on a 180 kg weight stack. Final capacity, load testing and weight increments have not been confirmed.

    Resistance profile
    Development target

The aim is a resistance curve that follows the quadriceps strength profile through the movement. A measured STOAD 01 torque curve has not been published.

    Range of motion · ROM
    Development target

The design aims to allow a large range of motion and deep knee flexion. Start and end angles, adjustment range and user limitations require documentation.

    Frame and materials
    Development target

Stainless steel and aluminium are the intended material direction. The final material list, finishes and upholstery will be confirmed before production.

    Service life
    Not confirmed

Theoretically longer service life is a hypothesis: a larger design margin may reduce wear under the same working load. Actual life also depends on design, materials, maintenance and use. No comparative durability test has been published.

    Warranty, dimensions and delivery
    Not confirmed

A five-year warranty is the intended direction. Coverage, exclusions and terms, together with dimensions, machine weight, pricing and lead time, must be set out in writing before an offer.

    Seated / reclined

    One machine. Two clear setups.

Current display model — not a production drawing or source of final dimensions.

    Visual colour studies

    Four expressions.

Obsidian, Graphite, Almandine and Alabaster are our four upholstery colour studies. The steel frame and red adjustments retain their finish. Final upholstery options will be confirmed before production.

    Evidence boundary

    Research context, not product outcome.

The studies did not test STOAD 01 and do not show that fully reclined is better than 40° hip flexion.
